Winterize Your Skincare

Here in the Deep South we do not have to contend with harsh winter weather but no matter where you live, it is always a good idea to revamp your skincare routine when the colder weather hits so your complexion can face the season looking soft, smooth and healthy.

When taking a shower….

Save time, water, energy and your skin by stepping out of the shower sooner and dialing back the temperature a few degrees. Long, hot showers deplete skin of its natural oils.  If you strip away the body’s oil reserves, you have to apply more moisturizer to compensate. Using more moisturizer means you’re spending more money, so this simple step saves you money all the way around.

Pick up our Unbelievable Sugar Scrub with a natural oil and shea butter base to slough away dead skin cells without over-drying. Dry skin tends to build up and stick to the surface of the skin, which makes moisturizers less effective. Help speed up the shedding process by gently exfoliating skin two or three times a week.  Sugar dissolves quickly in water and is easier on your skin than salt, so you’re less likely to over-scrub.

If you’re not ready to try our Unbelievable Sugar Scrub, why not try our Scrumptiously Decadent Sugar Scrub Bar instead?  Our handcrafted sugar scrub bar has all the benefits of our Unbelievable Sugar Scrub in the convenience of luscious, creamy soap bar.

Use a body wash made with moisturizing ingredients. Our Refreshing Body Wash is made with vegetable glycerin which helps skin by aiding with moisture retention that is so vital to healthy skin. Be sure to pat your body dry when leaving the shower so as not to wipe away any more of the hydrating benefits of the body wash.

During the day…..

Don’t let the windy, dry conditions of winter make your lips look less than luscious. Exfoliate your lips with our newest product, Kissable~a sugar scrub for your lips created to gently exfoliate dull, dry skin.  Gently rub a small amount on your lips then wipe away with a warm washcloth.

After exfoliating, keep your lips protected by applying our Really Good Lip Balm. Apply the balm several times throughout the day to not only provide a coating that keeps in moisture and keeps out the drying environment, it should also keep you from licking your lips.  Lip licking makes them even drier because as your saliva evaporates, it wicks away any remaining moisture from your lips.

You will be hearing from us a lot during the holiday season so keep an eye out for more information regarding sales, new products for the holidays, and our creative gift baskets, perfect for holiday giving.

Exfoliation is so important this time of year. It helps keep me skin smooth and soft and I swear, my serums and lotions absorb in better when I exfoliate regularly.
